RESIDENCY PROGRAMS

The New York Empire Trio has been universally hailed as tremendous leader in the field of teaching chamber music.  The New York Empire Trio’s residencies at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson  Ohio, Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music Preparatory Division have provided young musicians with focused training in chamber music. Their success is measured by the how well the participants have gone with their musical careers as many of them now attend major music schools in the United States and Europe. The trio’s unique approach to teaching, which encompasses much of their European training with the excellence of the American schooling, has been praised both by students and institutions.

The New York Empire Trio Educational and Outeach programs where recognized with such a leading organizations such as Quad City Arts - Visiting Artists Series where NYET did over 30 events for two weeks tour in the Spring of 2013. Events included concerts and lectures at Public and Private Schools, Universities and other comunity events.

The New York Empire Trio is offering its chamber music experience and skills with an innovative approach in a series of mini—residencies. Designed to offer young musicians an intense two-day chamber music experience, the residencies can be customized toward young players just beginning in chamber music or more experienced, already established groups. The residency culminates with a formal concert by the New York Empire Trio.

Classes:
Chamber Music Master Class: The New York Empire Trio demonstrates skills of ensemble playing chamber music with examples from a wide range of the repertoire. Topics covered include style, balance, intonation, and musical communication.  Student groups are encouraged to perform and critiqued in this class. 
Chamber Music Attitude Towards Success: Members of the trio are active soloists and teachers and have a wealth of experience in dealing with musical careers and offer valuable advice to young musicians. In this workshop the players discuss the workings of the music world— skills needed, getting established, networking, and chamber music etiquette.
Individual Classes: The New York Empire Trio splits into separate classes to discuss in further detail the basic elements of playing chamber music through student individual performances.
Repertoire: The New York Empire Trio has a varied repertoire that is carefully geared towards their residency. The trio has an entertaining approach to younger students where they are able to introduce the more serious repertoire to their audiences. This class includes discussion of performance practices of the Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary repertoire.
