SOFIA SOLOISTS 

The Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra is established in 1962 from a group of young musicians from Sofia Opera. Their first concert in March 1962, conducted by Michail Angelov, took the interest and the sympathy of the Sofia audience. Soon after that, they started the first concerts and tours abroad.
 
The Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra (SSCO) has more than 3000 concerts all over the world. They are a winners from a major festivals in Germany and France and enjoy great popularity during their participations at a number of other well known festivals such as in San Sebastian and Santander (Spain), Zagreb and Dubrovnik (Croatia), Cita di Castella (Italy), Louvain (Belgium), Bergen (Norway). 

Concerning the tours, it should be mentioned that the ensemble visited many countries, mainly in Europe, USA (10 tours), Japan (13 tours), Korea (7 tours), China, Australia, South America etc. During those tours they performed in many prestigious halls, like: Carnegie Hall-N Y, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican-London, Gewandhaus- Leipzig, Salle Gaveau-Paris, Concertgebouw-Amsterdam, Sydney Opera House, Tokyo: Suntory Hall, Bunkakaikan, Art Space Centre etc.
 
Among the names of the worldwide musicians, who have performed with the orchestra, are Henrik Shering, Heinz Holliger, Daniil Shafran, Nikanor Zabaletta, Albrecht Breuninger, Patrick Galois, David Walter, Nigel Kennedy etc.
 
The orchestra plays a multifarious music: from the Baroque to the contemporary music and has more than 600 works in its repertoire. SSCO performed more than 100 premieres of works, some of them written especially for it.

The musicians possess more than 60 CD’s recordings and about 25 of them are on the online markets: Amazon, ArkivMusic, Naxos.
 
The best of their repertoire has been published by the recording companies: BMG, Denon, Decca, Harmonia Mundi, Columbia, SABA, Victor, Gega New etc.
